A Progress Report:

I have a third of this written and so far it’s shaping up to be amazing, but it is taking me a while. Here’s why:

As a more direct sequel to Four Doorways in or near New Orleans than The Aggregate People was, it feels imperative that I get this right. Not just do the Four Doorways story justice, but lean into everything that worked well in that book in order to make something even better. It already has the distinct advantage of being a more typical, linear narrative instead of a tapestry of connected stories like Four Doorways.

If what I’ve written so far is any indication, then ‘You Will Not…’ is surpassing any hopes and expectations I had.

That’s why I’m treading carefully and not just barrelling through. I’ve got something special here, so I’m going to work on this for as long as it demands. My instincts tell me it will be worth it.

Tom and Ivy are back in action, Los Angeles is a big deal, as well as Los Alamos Laboratories in New Mexico. A more modern New Orleans plays a part as well as the deserts of the Southwest. Three different protagonists, separated by decades, reach across time to pull mysterious threads connecting to the same horrifying secret.

I can’t wait to put this one in your hands.
